ABOUT GSA

Vision

To be the world’s most recognized and trusted platform for discovering and empowering innovative entrepreneurs, enabling ecosystem collaboration and building thriving innovation economies.

Why

We believe the future is built by entrepreneurs everywhere, and by supporting them, we can drive positive global change.

How

To bring this vision to life, we founded the world’s largest startup competition platform, activating local ecosystems and connecting them globally.

Mission

We discover and empower high-growth and innovative entrepreneurs and their startups through global competitions, events, collaboration, and community.

What

We run competitions, build communities, accumulate insights (through data collection and network), and create exposure by hosting local, regional, and global events that spotlight top startups and ecosystem stakeholders. We unite the entire innovation landscape, encompassing founders and investors, corporates, governments, academia, and support organisations.

ORIGIN

GSA originated in Denmark with the launch of the Nordic Startup Awards (NSA), the first regional startup competition, established in 2012.

In 2015, the CEO, Kim Balle and the Co-Founder introduced a unifying brand to connect all regional competitions under one umbrella by adding Central Europe to the competition. Today, the competition counts 19 regions across 154 countries.

Today, the GSA provides a global platform that delivers substantial value to entrepreneurs and their startups, as well as to stakeholders in the startup ecosystem, including government institutions, corporations, and private companies.
